Scholar Planet Privacy Policy


‘Scholar Planet’ (‘Service’) is an integrated learning platform operated by GCAP World Softech Private Limited (‘GCAP’), located and registered at BC/B6, Shri Agrasen CGHS, Plot Number 10, Sector 7, Dwarka, South-west Delhi, New Delhi 110075, India (‘we’, ‘our’, or ‘us’). When a user of the App (‘you’, ‘user’, or ‘your’) shares information with us, we can help you access the right content and make your learning more effective. This ‘Privacy Policy’ is meant to help you understand how we collect and use the personal information you provide when you use our Services and App. Any reference to the App or Service in this document also covers use of the Service through our website(s). This policy explains:


  • The information we collect and where we collect it from

  • The ways we use your information

  • Choices you have about what we do and how to exercise your choices

  • How to contact with us if you have any questions

  1. The Information we collect

We need to collect certain information about you to provide access to the Scholar Planet Application (‘App’ or ‘Scholar Planet’) on Android or Apple devices, or through any support request you make. The type of information we collect can vary depending on how you access and use our App. Additionally, you can choose to voluntarily provide information to us. In the section below we have described the types of information we collect and from where we collect it.


  1. The Information you provide to us for use of the App

We collect the information you provide when you sign up for an account (‘Account Information’). We request an email address and phone number (optional) when you choose to sign up for the App so that we can provide consistent access to you across devices and allow us to comply with applicable regulations.


  1. Login/Signup Flow:

You can log in to our app as a Student or  as a Teacher
There are 2 options :
i. - Users can sign up using their email address by providing their name, email, phone number (Optional), and password.
•⁠  ⁠After providing the required information, users will receive a verification email containing an  OTP (One-Time Password) to verify their email address.
•⁠  ⁠Once the email address is verified, users can proceed to log in.
Sign In with Email or Phone Number:
•⁠  ⁠Users can sign in using their email address or phone number and password.
ii. Users can also sign up and sign in using their Google or Apple accounts (applicable only for Apple devices). However, this feature is provided in addition to the email-based sign-up and sign-in process.
Unique Signup Requirements:
A person cannot Sign up as both a Teacher and a Student using the same email address.
For example, if a user is registered with email id 'X' as a Student, then to login/sign in as a Teacher, the user needs to use a different email id  'Y'.


  1. Steps/Functionality to use our App :

  • As a Teacher: If the user logs in as a teacher, he/she can create Groups and add students to it. The teacher can create assignments for a specific time and assign it to students from the Assignment tab. The teacher can also create a specific duration Quiz and assign it to students from the Quiz tab. The teacher can also assign video lessons to the students. The teacher can also upload content for the students, on a topic covered under a subject for a particular grade of students. The content will be in the form of Questions and Answers (Q & A) and instructional videos. This content is reviewed by a team of peer teachers before publishing it in the app for students.

  • As a Student: After successful login, a user can choose the Grade (study-level) at the time of first use. The user can change the grade later from settings, if he/she so desires. The user can view and select a Subject in each Grade and the Topics covered thereunder. After selecting a Topic, users can self practice, practice with friends or attempt a test. Users can add their friends from the friend’s tab. Users can also Schedule a session from the schedule tab at the bottom. Users can attempt an Assignment/Quiz assigned by the School from My School icon on the home page (the School icon will get enabled only when a teacher gives you a quiz, assignment etc.). Students/ parents can also receive reports by email periodically at a frequency they opt for.


  1. The Information you may provide for enhanced experience

You can choose to provide us with additional information in order to obtain a better user experience when using the App. This additional information will be processed with your consent and/or to provide you with the services you request. This information includes your participation in contests, suggestions for improvements, referrals or any other actions on the App. 


  1. The Information which we automatically get when you use our App

We automatically collect certain information about you and how you use the App, like when you create a study set, join a class, or view the content and interact with your Teacher or other users. This information we collect includes:


  • Device information: Scholar Planet collects information about how users use the app and the devices they use to access our App, for a convenient and efficient user experience. Scholar Planet may collect information about your device, including hardware model, operating system version, and unique identifiers.


  • Log information. When you use Scholar Planet, we automatically collect and store certain information about this activity. This data includes details of how you used our service, like your search queries, clicks and site navigation information, or study activity. It also may include data such as:


  1. Language and grade preference and time zone

  2. Internet Protocol (IP) address

  3. Time of Log-in and Log-out


  1. The Information we collect from other sources

We do not control, supervise or respond to how the third parties providing your information process your personal data, and any information request regarding the disclosure of your personal information to us should be directed to such third parties. The information we collect about you from third parties includes:


  1. Application based login information through Google and/or Apple Login: You have to log in to our site or App using sign-in services such as Google Login or Apple Login. These services authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us, such as your name and email address, to pre-populate our sign-up form. Such information is transmitted by these sign-in services after they receive your consent.


  1. Information from children: Scholar Planet is meant for users age 9 years and above. We use information we collect to maintain Scholar Planet as a safe and secure platform for all our users, including appropriate enforcement of Scholar Planet policies, as well as compliance with the applicable laws and regulations. We do not condition a child's participation or access to any activity on App, upon the child providing any personally-identifying information or any more information than is reasonably necessary for that activity. We may use aggregated or de-identified information about children for research and analysis purposes only.


  1. Parental rights: A parent may request updates or corrections to a Child’s Account information by contacting support@gcapworld.com . We will respond to these requests within a reasonable timeframe. Parents can also request that Scholar planet delete any information and refuse to allow Scholar planet to collect further information from their children by contacting Scholar planet at  support@gcapworld.com . Learn more about this in our ‘Managing your Account’ section below. If the parent deletes the account, all the study sets, folders, and classes the child created are also deleted.


  1. How we use the information

We collect information about you when you use the App for a variety of reasons in order to enable our team to continue to create engaging experiences for our users. The section below describes how and why we use the information collected through the App or through any communication made from your end.


  1. Providing, analyzing and improving the App

We process the data we collect about you to operate, improve and develop the App, including providing, maintaining, securing and improving our features, developing new ones, and protecting Scholar Planet and our users. We are able to deliver our services, personalize content, and make suggestions for you by using this information to understand how you use and interact with our App. We conduct surveys and research, test features in development, and analyze the information we have to evaluate and improve products and services, develop new products or features, and conduct audits and troubleshooting activities.


Here are some examples of how we use this information:


  • Providing, maintaining and improving the App: Account information we collect from you allows us to help you log in, host your content, and use the various study tools we have. It also helps us to provide you seamless access across devices. For example, we use information collected to save your language and your grade preferences, so we will be able to ensure that our services appear in the language and for the grade you prefer. We do this in order to ensure that content from the Service is presented in the most effective manner for you.

  • We need to gather certain information to analyze usage and performance of the App in order to develop and enhance our products and deliver a consistent, secure and continuous user experience on the App. We also use mobile analytics software to pursue our legitimate interests in operating and improving Scholar Planet by allowing us to better understand the functionality of our App on your device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events and activities that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, to help us provide reports for individual performance enhancement on registered email, as requested.

  • Fulfilling any other purpose disclosed to you in connection with the App.

  1. Communication with you regarding the App

We also use your account information and information you provide to us to provide you with relevant information about the Service and to assist you in using the Service if required. These communications may include:


  • Sending you information we think you may find useful or which you have requested from us about our App: We may send you information about the parts of Scholar planet you use or that may be relevant to you.

  • Conducting surveys and collecting feedback about the App: We do this to evaluate the effectiveness of any updates we provide.

  • Delivering assistance or answering support requests: We send you the information and support you request, including technical notices, security alerts, and other administrative messages to provide assistance for problems you may encounter with the scholar planet account.

  • Maintaining a trusted environment: We use the information we collect to maintain Scholar Planet as a safe and secure platform for all our users, including appropriate enforcement of Scholar Planet policies, as well as compliance with the law and applicable regulations. These efforts include:

  1. Verifying your identity. In some cases, we may need to verify your identity in order to protect the security and integrity of the Service and your account if needed.

  2. Complying with any applicable laws or regulations. This includes appropriately responding to lawful requests for information from the government or third parties through the legal process if needed.

  3. Contacting you to resolve disputes and provide assistance with the App if needed.

  1. Advertisements and Analytics

We do not permit any advertisements in our app. For analytics, we use Google Analytics (Firebase) only. You may visit ‘How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services’ at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and the ‘Google Privacy Policy’ at https://policies.google.com/privacy/update?hl=en&gl=gb to understand how Google collects and processes user information.


  1. Other uses

We may process data for any other purpose disclosed to you in connection with the App from time to time. If we intend to process your personal data for a purpose other than that set out above and which is not compatible with the original processing purpose, we will provide you with relevant information prior to such processing and will obtain your consent where necessary. Please note that by signing in to use the App, you have determined that you are permitted to use the App as per laws applicable to you, and have the right to provide valid consent to use the App, and agree to all policies governing its usage.


  1. Information for users residing in EEA and certain other jurisdictions

If you are resident in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any other jurisdiction where consent or any other form of permission is required for processing of user data, we determine that by signing in to use the App, you have provided us permission to collect and utilize your personal information according to this Privacy Policy.


  1. Managing your account

You remain in control of the information you provide to Scholar Planet. You may review, edit or delete any information you submit to us at any time by signing into your Scholar Planet account. However, deletion of this information may restrict your ability to effectively use the App. You may also delete your account at any time. However if you delete your account, all the study sets, folders, and classes that you've created will also be also deleted in accordance with our data retention practices. A parent may request updates or corrections to a child’s account information by contacting support@gcapworld.com . We will respond to these requests within a reasonable timeframe. If the parent deletes the account, all the study sets, folders, and classes the child created are also deleted.

We keep your personal information till you delete your account.


  1. How your Information is secured

The security of your personal information is of paramount importance to us. Scholar Planet takes measures reasonably designed to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of personal information. We use our best efforts to follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it, but do not guarantee absolute security of any data. We do not accept any liability for any disclosure of data by any breach or criminal activity. The App and any user of the App are governed only by laws of India, and any disputes will be resolved in courts of New Delhi, India, to the exclusion of all other forums.

Your signing in to use the App is considered as consent to all policies governing the App, including but not limited to this Privacy Policy. When children below the age of consent sign in to use the App, we consider that their parents or guardians have provided consent on their behalf. Please ensure that as a parent or guardian, you are aware about the use of the App by any children who are in your care or supervision. If you, or any children under your supervision do not accept any of the policies governing this App, including but not limited to this Privacy Policy, you should immediately stop using the App, and contact us at support@gcapworld.com  to delete your information.
